Creative Arts Project
Work by 50 participants in the Creative Arts Project will be featured at the Tennessee State University Main Library’s Art Corner for the entire month of April. The Creative Arts Project is sponsored by the Middle Tennessee Mental Health and Substance Abuse Coalition. In addition to engaging in therapeutic creativity, the project’s artists have been featured in exhibitions all over town, raising awareness about the everyday individuals who exist behind the labels and terminology that define mentally ill and addicted communities. Work in past Creative Arts Project shows has always held surprises, and the pieces in this exhibit run the gamut from still-life paintings to figurative drawings to bold, colorful abstractions.
